Handwriting lines are beneficial for younger children who are learning letter formation and handwriting, children with poor fine motor skills, and older children who struggle with letter formation.
Students who have learning differences or who are working below grade level may not want to do worksheets with handwriting lines because they look like they are made for younger children. Selecting “single lines” on worksheets for older students will allow them to work on the appropriate content without feeling insecure about what they are doing.
